Why Stuff ?
If you, or someone you know, love gadgets, video games (hardware as opposed to games), smart phones, laptops, electronics and everything technological - Stuff magazine is for you. Stuff is chock full of news, reviews and information about the latest high tech gear and devices.
What’s SO good about Stuff?
Stuff reviews can be invaluable for finding the best products in a marketplace where there are increasingly vast numbers of choices. Stuff also provides cutting edge new stories on the latest trends and devices in development for the future which are great for knowing what’s in the pipeline.
Pet Peeves?
Stuff used to be aimed towards a younger audience. However as their original readership got older and more affluent Stuff has tried to change with them. Which is great for people with a large disposable income but many of the products and advertisements are now for luxury products well out of many people’s price range despite the fact that, in general, technology has gotten cheaper and cheaper with the expansion of the global economy. There are still many features about gadgets we all can afford but these are much less frequent than they used to be.
Who’s it aimed at?
Stuff went through a major revamp in 2009. One need only look at the eye candy on the front cover to see that it is aimed primarily at young to middle aged males. However as mentioned above, there has been a noticeable shift away from the younger audience towards an older, more affluent crowd.
IDEAL GIFT for: technology buffs who could benefit from unbiased reviews of new products and are interested in all the latest gadgets to hit the market. Although it is geared towards men the articles would be just as interesting to female technology enthusiasts as long as they aren’t offended by the odd model in a bikini or lingerie being used to promote a product.
